You're a Summit Internet client, or maybe you're a friend of ours or maybe you follow us on Facebook or Twitter or Google+ either way- HELLO!!! We thought for our first ever blog post we'd share a quick story on how we started..

Bill- The owner and  director of Summit Internet hasn't always been in the IT field.... Would you like to know what he was first?! [of course you would that's why you're here!]

When Bill was about 16 he joined the Navy... He was part of the crew on HMAS SWAN for close to 7 years then spent another 3-4 years on HMAS PERTH, HMAS BRISBANE and HMAS HOBART with the final three years of his naval career spent in the Naval Police. Once he retired from the Navy [after his second child was born] he studied Horticulture and opened his own landscaping business and had three more children.. The years his landscaping business was open were very very full-on and busy... The children [me being one of them] have many fond memories of weekends being spent at the main yard, hiding and playing in the sand, dirt + bark as well as watching the bobcats and trucks coming in for loads..
While running the business Bill studied IT in his spare time.... He came to realise that the IT industry was where he yearned to be.. So after years of his successful landscaping venture he made the decision close up and begin he career in the IT world.

1997 was when Summit Internet Solutions was born -- if you've ever seen Bill's car that what his number plates stand for SIS-345, although the 345 doesn't mean anything, just three numbers he chose HA!
We were known as Summit Internet Solutions for quiet a few years before we decided to change our name slightly to what it is today... Our office was in Baulkham Hills where we co-shared a space with a reality business and a self managed online super firm.... Many friends were made there over the years.
These days our office is based in Richmond.

The story of how we started isn't some grand struck of good luck or something that was handed down for generations, but boy are we proud of us!
We've been around since 1997, saw the new millennium tick over and survived the Y2K without a hitch. We are proud of who we are, we are proud of our services and we feel privileged that YOU are part of our journey!
