Tech at the moment
A quick rundown of whats happening in tech land at the moment:
- Apple's Apple TV is on track with the release date set for sometime this month in October. For a 32GB model, you can expect to pay $149 and for 64GB model you can expect to
pay $199

- Another Smart Watch ha hit our shores. Samsung's new Gear S2 smartwatches has just launched in Australia. For a standard S2 watch you're looking at around $499. At the moment they are only available in the Samsung Experience Store and the eStore but will be available for purchase in the major retailers in November, so you have time to start saving your dollars.

- Yahoo has signed a non exclusive deal with Google to provide search adds for Yahoo's search results
- Sony to pay up to $11 million as part of hacking lawsuit settlement Sony Pictures Entertainment reached a settlement with employees [current + former], agreeing to pay up to $11 million to reimburse them for identity-theft losses, preventative measures + legal fees related to the hack of its computers last year.
Apple + Dropbox join fight against controversial cyber-security bill. A rep from both Apple and Dropbox both had similar explanations advising that while it's important that the public + private sector share relevant data about emerging threat, the trust of their customers means everything to them and they don't believe security should come at the expense of their privacy.
